LCD vs Plasma Can't Post

I am thinking of getting a new TV, but dont know which one to get. Im looking into at least a 50 inch. My Room is 20x20 so it good size. i have a sectional couch so you watch the TV from a slight angle sometime. I also play alot of 1st person shooter games on the X Box. any advise would be great

Re: [Hutchle] LCD vs Plasma [In reply to] Can't Post

Read some stuff at http://tvbuyingguides.blogspot.com.
Just to let you know you can't go wrong with buying LCD screen but make sure its at least 120hz. Plasma is also great but if you don't want to have any problems with the plasma screen you have to spend a little bit more.
I recommend Sony or Samsung for LCD and Panasonic for Plasma.

LCD if you play games, plasma if you want movies/tv. LCD is just as good for movies but plasma is cheaper.

I would suggest you buy an LCD TV. I have a Samsung LN40C630 for some time now. Quality over price i think it's the best choice.

If you don't want to hassle your mind in thinking on which is which and you can spend just for you to enjoy, then I suggest, you buy the LCD.

It's the best.

If you want to use it for a computer or console, then I suggest you get LCD, as still images (for a long period of time) can acually burn into a plasma screen (e.g. a channel logo or the Windows taskbar).
If you want to watch TV and movies then I suggest you get a plasma screen, as they can come larger and clearer..

Thanks!!!

From a repair point-of-view as a technician LCD is the way to go, they are easier and less expensive to repair if needed.

Plasma TVs are on their way out. Even Sony will not make them anymore due to too many repair issues (want proof try doing a search for a Sony plasma & I'll bet you won't find a new one) that should tell you something, one of the largest electronics companies in the world and they've dropped their Plasma line.
