I really loved this movie and the audience clapped when it was over. This movie is a very well staged historical drama focusing upon the rather harsh impact major military conflicts have on the lives of ordinary people. This movie doesn\'t have a complicated plot and reminds me a great deal of the sort of movies that were made during the 1930\'s thru 1950\'s. Steven Spielberg did an excellent job with this movie and it is an \"Oscar\" worthy contender. Too bad animals aren\'t given awards because these animals really deserved them including a goose!!!
