PatHill that is not his problem. His TV is set to zoom all 4:3 signals to fill the screen. His problem is that all of his channels are coming from the VCR in SD (probably in 480i), and he doesn't like the picture. If he will run his antenna/cable/whatever straight to the TV he would see a better picture (providing his TV is capable of tuning HD channels from cable 'QAM', or from an antenna 'ATSC').
