I have an older model Panasonic TH-42PW5 plasma.
I encountered a problem where the unit would go into protection mode when it powered up. The front panel Power LED would turn red and blink twice.
When I opened the unit I discovered a dark LED on the SC Board which I replaced.
Now I have an intermittent protection mode problem. Both LED's on the SS light up as does the LED on the SC Board. Then, almost immediatley, the SC Board LED goes dark as does one of the LED's on the SS Board.
After pushing the front panel power button a few times, the front panel LED stays green and the system appears to run normally. It stays on until I power it down.
Two questions:
Does anyone have any idea on what's wrong?
Will operating the unit this way cause any more problems?
