Plasma V LCD Can't Post

I am new to all this so please bare with me.

We are in the process of decorating our front room and i am looking at buying either a plasma or a lcd tv to hang on the wall. The trouble is the wall i have in mind has a radiator on it and I was wondering if the heat from it would affect either a plasma or lcd tv??

Also, if any one has come across a half decent plasma or lcd tv for about £1000 -1500 please could they let me know, I dont expect it to do anything fancy we just watch tv, dvds and videos (and sky I should add). I am a sports fan so it is important that live football comes out ok on the screen.

thanks for any help that anyone can provide on this matter, I know that this isn't the LCD section but there isnt a lot of posts on that part so I was hoping that you kind people would be able to help.Smile

Plasmas- Slight chance of burn in, if you're going big, they are cheaper than LCDs, usually faster Pixel Response time, and they serve as great entertainment TVs. The burn in is pretty much over exaggerated, not as bad as people say.

LCD- No chance of burn in, more expensive that plasmas if you are going big, slower pixel response time, also good entertainment tvs, just a little too slow for gaming. Also have trouble producing true black colors.

Plasma is great, you just have to be careful, LCD is also okay, if you can get around the blurryness with fast paced content.

Hope this helped.

I like plasma TV compare to LCD.
LCD is good if you're in front of a computer but for entertainment plasma is better compare to LCD. Just like CRT monitor is better if you're into making graphics stuff coz the colors and the effects is much precise and stronger compare to LCD monitors

As long as the radiator isn't directly under the set it would be OK.

As for your question, what is your monetary amount based on in American dollars?

Is a plasma good for gaming? I recently purchased a LG 50PB2DR and find that images ghost on extremely fast. I got it for gaming because i thought burn in wasn't a problem anymore but if it ghosts after 3 seconds of a still image what will a game do after 1 to 2 hours of play. So now i am too scared to use it for gaming , and playing games on it was the whole reason i got it in the first place. Frown
