Nice job everyone on the E44W46LCD thread below – it has helped out immensely, although I purchased my system before I saw this thread. I have had it almost a year, and though I have noticed some of the glitches identified in the thread, I am pretty happy with it. Now, onto the topic… I am setting it up for home theater sound, as I bought an HTIB set-up last weekend at BB. After reading manuals for the TV, HD receiver, stereo receiver, and dvd player, there are countless ways to hook it up. I am wondering how others have set it up for maximum performance. Here is what I am leaning towards: HD Receiver: component (for now) to TV, optical to stereo receiver, RCA cables to stereo receiver (eventually, I will replace the component w/DVI) DVD: component and RCA to TV, coax to stereo receiver TV: RCA cables to stereo receiver? Now to complicate things, my receiver also has component inputs, so I could run all the systems through the receiver. Is it worth doing? And are the RCA cables necessary?
