JVC 56' WIDESCREEN Can't Post

We have a JVC 56' widescreen tv that our whole family loves. After a recent 2 week vacation, we returned to find that when we turned on our tv to watch it, it was like watching tv in 3-D only without the glasses. The color is red....all we see is a blurry picture with everything doubled in red. We have only had the tv 3 years this year and we have taken great care of it.It has been suggested that the convergence modules may be bad. Is this the sort of thing that my husband could do himself and if so where would we get parts from? We can no longer stand to watch tv.Please, help, anyone if possible. We've searched and searched and so far nothing on this particular problem. We do live in California, in the desert so actually taking the tv somewhere far isn't an option for us as we do not have a truck to transport it.Any and all information, suggestions, input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

Re: [julie] JVC 56' WIDESCREEN [In reply to] Can't Post

What is the model number of the T.V.? I too have a JVC 56" HD CRT projection T.V. I have actually been issued an exchange due to the fact that the CRT tubes have started showing burn issues that were not caused by anything that I have done. Also, the T.V. will constantly lose its convergence quality. The nice thing is that with my set, I can easily go into the menu screen and fix the convergence manually. You may be able to do the same thing.

Best Buy is giving me money to use towards another television due to the fact that this is my second 56" JVC of this specific model and Best Buy would rather not replace the tubes due to the fact that I wouldn't be satisfied with that sort of repair.

I am now getting a JVC 52" HD-ILA T.V. I know, its another JVC which will probably give me problems but I couldn't beat the price and its covered under Best Buy's warranty program for 4 years!

Good Luck, and if you know what the model number is, please let me know and we may be able to find a non expensive solution to your problem.
