Manual Convergence ? 53SDX89B

I replaced the ic's on my TV with with STK 392 180 , thanks to this site all went smooth. I have had a few people tell me that the picture does not look as sharp and clear as it did before. I've done the Magic Focus. I have read that you need to do a manual convergence after changing ic's so the settings will be right in the "memory". When I hold in the Magic focus button I get a "Center mode" then a "Static Mode" screen, in the static mode the horizonal red line is slightly curved down on the outsides. This is after running Magic focus. Do I need to do a manual convergence? Will this help the picture quality? And where can I find instructions for doing this if I need to do it? If I was to purchase a service manual would it cover doing a manual convergence? Thanks again for all the help.. Dan
