Mitsubishi 65" Problems Can't Post

This tv was new in November 2001. The past week or so it has started acting up with an hourglass look at the bottom and the top of the screen. It does this on all inputs. It will sometimes correct itself, but then do it again. It will also occassionally have all different color lines flash up in random places and directions on the screen. Anyone have some suggestions to help me.

Thanks,

Trent Compton

Re: [tcompton] Mitsubishi 65" Problems [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Trent,

It looks as if your convergence ic's are failing. If that is all it is, it is a cheap and quick fix. Ic's will will run approx $8 each x2. Old ones will have to be de-solderd out and new one soldered in. The convergence ic's are mounted on very large heat sinks on the convergence bd located in the back of the set. I am not familiar with Mitsubishi, but you can't miss the heat sinks. Most convergence ic's are labeled stk-xxx-xxx. Hope this helps.
