Phillips/Magnavox	Can't Post

Hi,I just got this tv and the color seems to be out of whack.It is a phillips/magnavox PTV770-AH01 built in October of 1997.I have tried to adjust the colors thru the menu but i still get a ghost image and the white is really bright.Also the blues and greens get ghost images also.Does this sound like i need to change the fluids or is there some adjustments i can do on the inside as i notice there where some knobs inside with colored pods that look like some kind of adjusters.Thank You

if it's that old and a magnavox the picture tubes are weak junk it or turn the lights off

I just opened the back again and turned the tv on.I looked at the projectors and i can see the picture thru the red lens but i see like bacteria thru the green and blue. I am going to give a shot on the coolant and will update when the job is done.What the heck i didnt pay nothing for it...

Heres a heads-up, DON`T use Philips coolant to replace the bad fluid or it will just repeat the bacteria build-up, I use RCA fluid, it`s cheaper and if you clean yours out correctly the bacteria won`t come back with the RCA fluid in it :) Larry E

I`m not familiar with that brand so I can`t say if it`s good or not, most electronic parts stores sell one brand or another, heres one place that will sell the rca brand www.wehaveparts.com it`s the consumer end of Tritronics, another thing to remember, DO NOT spill any of the solution on your capet or on your circuit boards it is veeery caustic, takes patience to do this job, take digital pictures of everything before you start and periodically as you dismantle the assemblies so you put everything back where it belongs, as I said be patient, good luck you`ll need it, Larry E
