Proscan Projection Problem Can't Post

Hi everyone, I'm new here and would appreciate some suggestions.
Model # PS 60690 Chassis # PTK 188AC.
When I press the power button the green light flashes on and off 3 times. While doing this I get a bright flash for the left projector (facing front screen) area while at the same time, 3 high pitch squeal sounds. There is no response from the other projectors and this is visible due to front and rear panels being removed during inspection.

Thanks

Re: [shadetree] Proscan Projection Problem [In reply to] Can't Post

Thanks for the reply shadetree, after googling my problem I found a similar problem with the same 60" Projection. I followed the same instructions which was to disconnect the red lead wire going to the High Voltage Splitter, which was coming from what I believe may be the flyback, (unsure). I isolated the bare wire since it held up to 33,000 volts then plugged the tv back in and turned it on using the remote. It stated that if the tv turns on, mind you there will be no picture but I now had sound, and stays on then the HV Splitter needs to be replaced. The Proscan did indeed remain on with no arc as before.
I will take your suggestions and wait to see whether other chime in with perhaps another suggestions.

Thanks again.

I made an error in my previous post and will correct it. When I did that test I did get sound, but no picture.

Re: [My Dream] Proscan Projection Problem [In reply to] Can't Post

I ended up changing the HV Splitter with a new QEM RCA model and I know how picture and sound. I did however run into 2 problems.
1. One rubber gasket was missing from the anode lead and one of the focus lead rubber gaskets slipped off and I can't find it. I installed it temporarily to see if I got picture an sound back again, but I'm having a problem getting new replacements.
2. The picuture quality is poor and I have a pulsating screen now. It may be possible that I need to reinstal the leads to get a better conection but until I find some rubber gaskets and a solution to the picture quality I'm holding off for now.
