Hello all, Yesterday, my unit HCN4226W Samsung 42" turned off, and it won't come on, the red light around the on/off button turns on but nothing happens no image, no sound......So I have 3 Options:... 1) To Trash it and buy a new one...2) To Bring it to a local Repair shop and pay between $500 and $700 to fix it.... Option 3) Like everyone else reading this forum...decided to see if I could fix it myself.. To my surprise it looks as if it is a common problem with these units... there are several posts with similar problems. Apparently the Fix is easy and not expensive...ofcourse for those like me with the TV repairman experience of a Cat. But all it takes is a screwdriver and some common sense. Replace the CG/AMP Board part #AA95-02002A There is a reference of a substitute board #BP94-00383A (AKA: Convergence Board) (#AA95-02002A www.samsungparts.com $94.39)(#BP94-00383A www.vancebaldwin.com $70.10) plus shipping. Also since I don't want to start putting my TV appart without knowing what I am pocking.. I uploaded the Service Manual so you guys can download it if you need it. Here it is... ( http://hcn4226w.groupfiles.com/....list.run?folderID=0 ) This file sharing is a free service so I don't know how long they will allow those documents upthere. (I have to at least have an Idea of what this board looks like. http://pictures.partsearch.com/...b4caf174e014ea15.jpg You will need to do some Convergence adjustments for colors and lines, hopefully this will be a lot easier by running the Perfect Focus option within the Unit. If you have replaced the board and still you can't get into the main menu to run the perfect focus then Try from your Remote Control (Mute,1,8,3) and then call the Samsung repair Hotline 973-601-6124 your adjustments just got a little more complicated. Well, I have learned a lot from this forum so I figure that the least I could do was to Compile all of the Info and share it. Wish me luck, I have ordered my board from Samsungparts.com although a little more expensive but it is the original for the HCN4226W if you have any other variations of this unit like the HCN4226WS or HCN4226WX... you might want to check the parts list for that model there are different part numbers for those according to Samsung.com Mal-......
