Sony picture problem Can't Post

My sony projection tv has a horrible picture. On the left and right side, the picture seems to warp in the middle. Also, the colors are all of alignment. I tried changing the convergence setting, but it didnt do much. What is causing this? Can I fix it myself?

do you mean the picture is concave or barrel shaped? if so you have an east/west correction fault

the picture is fine at the top and bottom. on both sides the pictures caves in toward the center of the screen. not sure what east/west correction fault is.

sounds like you have a geometry fault where the pic is out of shape. the east/west correction alters the line scan shape so the scan is the correct shape for the crt in the set. it could be a drive fault from the jungle ic or an output fault like the e/w correction diodes. you need a scope to check the waveforms.otherwise change the whole deflection board but that will be expensive knowing sony prices

Simple problem lets see Sony projection all the colors won't alighn, Pix is all distorted, gee what could this possibly be, mabe we should rip this sucker all to hell screw with all the adjustments, and reenginer the flux capacitor.

Or change the convergance Ic's cuz that's exactly the problem with the syptoms he described

not a problem. but how do I 'change the convergance Ic's'? ive never worked on a tv before. will it be expensive, like more than the tv is worth. if so, i'll just buy a new one.
