removing crt Can't Post

Hi guys... I have my coolant on the way...I am looking at removing the blue crt. First of all is it necessary to remove the voltage from the crt, other than unpluging the tv of course? Also I seem to have read 2 ways to do this. 1. touch a screwdriver under the anode cap on the crt grounding it out to frame. 2. unhooking the red wire from the block in the picture attached and grounding it to frame from there. Is either way safer? It looks to be easier to unhook it from the block. If I leave the tv off overnight would that dessipate the voltage on its own?

So I can just go ahead and disconect the connectors? There is only about 7 all together I believe. The one in the picture, 3 that plug onto a board. Then there are 2 red ones that are attached to another block further into the tv.
