its the 8 legged chip front left of pcb. before ou change it check the secondary diodes off the power supply,sometimes one of the fat ones goes short circuit.

its a standard eeprom BUT if you buy a generic one it wont be programmed for that tv so you need all the option codes for that model first and then you have hundreds of geometry settings to adjust after. when this chip gets corrupted usually you can force the tv on by pressing the picture aspect button several times.check the other possibilities first or buy a cheap generic(about £4 GBP) to try.the set should power up even if you cant tune anything or see anything. if you order from jvc the part is model specific so quote all numbers and letters of the model number
