I have pretty much the same TV except mine is a 610 instead of a 655.
I was having this red light that showed near the center of the screen. It wasn't a solid dot but a faint red area that looked like it was spray painted on. That continued for about a month then it disappeared and instead this road map pattern appeared in the lower left corner of the display.
Don't know if your blue spot is anything like my red one but in my case it turned out to be a faulty light engine. I was hoping it was a lamp issue, but I doubted it because the rest of the screen lit up fine.
If your problem does turn out to be the light engine be sure and contact Sony because there is an extended warrentee on them.
