36 toshiba Can't Post

I have a 36 " toshiba , that has a great picture for about two minutes,then it begins to flicker and make crackling noise to where you cant even see or hear the channel. The tv is about seven years old . I would apreciate any advice . ThanksBlush

Is the "cracklig noise" coming from inside the set or thru the speakers. If from inside the set, it is probably a high voltage arc due to breakdown in insulationin the high voltage section. You should be able to spot it in the back of the set. Sometimes, a little Silicone Seal will cure the problem.

Mel,the crackling noise is coming through the speakers each time the screen flickers. Thanks

I still suspect that it is caused by arcing but probably due to a poor connection or bad solder joint. It could be almost anywhere in the set so I would recommend that you have a professional look at it
