i have a mitsu vs 45 something and found that i too have a similar problem. Picture goes out sometimes and sound stays and all other functionality works but no pic... I took the back off and next to the projection bulbs i fiddled with the wires and the thing went back up... there must be a loose connection somewhere in that pack of wires... towards the left of the back on the upper corner area....
try it.... it might work...
