my tv has a line about an inch wide and about 12 inches from the top of the screen that is black are these dead pixels and if so repairable?

change the picture ratio to 4:3. if the line stays in the same place its probably the screen faulty which will cost more than buying a new tv.if the line moves then a driver board is probably faulty which will only be hideously expensive as opposed to impossibly expensive!!
