64" Magnavox Help

Me and my roommate recently looked at a 64" magnavox that the owner says was around 8 years old. The problem with the tv was the picture looked decent towards the middle but as it moved towards the sides it got extremely blurry and a yelloish color. I was just curious if this tv is junk or could it possibly be repaired. It doesnt help that I didnt get a model number.
