Akai LCT3201AD Can't Post

I recently replaced three capacitors on the power supply board; however, I accidentally reversed the polarity of the capacitors. When I plugged in the TV, I heard a surging sound. Now, there is absolutely no power to the TV. Not even a standby light. Any ideas as to what has happened? Thanks.

You applied power with the electrolytics installed backwards!

Unfortunately, I did install capacitors reversed by accident. Do you have any idea as to what might of happended? Like I said, I heard a surging sound. Also, none of the capacitors blew or bulged...
Thanks.

Normally, an electrolytic cap installed backwards will explode. Apparently some other component (hopefully a fuse) went first.

Now the electrons and positrons are probably confused about which way to flow.Wink

Is there anything I can do to revive the PSU, or is it trash?

jhh2j;....

I do not work on LCD,LED or plasma TVs , but I can give you very limited help....
That said....
You may have blown the new caps....
Even tho they don't look bad or are not bulged they can be blown internally...
They are cheaper than a new PSU or TV....
Before you toss it , I'd suggest you get another set of caps & install them CORRECTLY....
Then check/replace the fuse & give it a go...

Good Luck....Sly....

They usually have them available for downloading at their websites.
