I have a an Akai model # PT5492S year manufactured 2002 what happens is I plug in TV and the red light comes on indicating power but no picture/sound makes a steady sizzling/buzzing type noise. In order to get tv on I have to plug and unplug several times until pic comes on sometime 20 minutes sometimes 2 hours. I have to unplug TV in order to turn off TV off/on control not responding. I have some soldering skill and understanding of basic components, enough to be kinda dangerous.
