CTC169JA5 bench test Can't Post

Can I bench test the power supply chassis voltages on a CTC169JA5 without it being connected to the picture tube?

What is a CTC169JA5 obviously a TV. I really become annoyed how one country in the world believes that they are the only one. If you look at the answers given on this page you will find that most posters are USA and most answerers are not. Your issue is that USA does not train engineers, you cant get your unit fixed and you rely on the skills of others. For what its worth your answer is no. Most modern TVs have a system of APC (Auto pix control) based on the current drawn by the tube, so the chassis should cut out.

You asked: What is a CTC169JA5?

It is a chassis out of a 12 year old RCA G35830WK direct view TV.

You stated: Your issue is that USA does not train engineers.

I'm not an engineer. I am a factory worker with just enough electronics knowledge to get by. I am just trying to get this set up and running for the kids to play video games on. The TV tech said that it would cost $100.00 - $200.00 dollars to repair it. I thought that if I could check the voltages and replace a few components that I might be able to fix it at less cost. If I can't, I will take it to the TV tech.

I replaced the following and it ran for about 30 days and then shut off.

HOT Q4401: 2SD1885
C4402: 214754, .047ufd
C4108: 208002, 39ufd/100v
C4102: 2.2ufd/100v
C4104: 189982, 15ufd/63v (replaced with 22ufd/100v)
Zener diode CR4122

Sorry if I upset you!

while you have the chassis out send it to tristate module it should be about 100.00 to rebuild and it will have a years warranty so you won't have to worry about it for a while
