Dead Sony klv-40a10	Can't Post

Hi, I've got a dead Sony klv-40a10 PCB 1-866-161-14. No stb 5 V, i've chaged IC 6300 STR A 6169, PH 6300 PC123Y22JOOF, there is aroud 185Vac on pin 5 of STR A 6169, verified all diodes, capacitors, resistors aroud this circuitry, all good, so where do i go next ?

Correct your model number, then substitute your bench 5VDC supply for the TV's stb 5 V.

Thank you, i had the model wrong, so you said to substitute the stb 5 V with an auxiliary 5V, so what shall i gain with this procedure ?

You STILL have NOT corrected 'S' your model number (in the Subject line). 0 Results found in All for "klv-40a10" http://www.sony.co.uk/...A10&locale=en_GB Unimpressed

btw, Apparently YOU are the ONLY person on the planet Earth to have 'that' board number. Frown

Pin 5 on my 40" power supply schematic says (aroud) 154 vDC. IF you are getting AC OUT of D6300 - I think you've found your problem.

OK the board is 1-868-161-14, i have 157 VDC between pin 5 and 3, the model:KLV-S40A10, Canada 110Vac

AND

then substitute your bench 5VDC supply for the TV's STBY5V? (Presumes STBY5V 'line' is NOT dead short)

Pin1- 0V, 2- 15.75 Vdc, 4- 0v, 5 and 7 and 8 157Vdc IC6421 PQ12DZ5UJ00H ??

Took the MM1431ATT out, Applied 5v through a 10K to pin 1, 2 gnd and got .917 on pin 3.

OK, so changing the PCB (1-868-161-14) board would do the trick ?

Probably.
If you have a second external supply you could try replacing stby5 volt and 16.5V simultaneously (check 16.5 for dead short first). Unimpressed

There is no 16.5V, only multiple 17.5V, 10.5V and 5V noted on the board

Hi, sorry for the late response,out sick, bad virus this year.So i fed the 16.5V and 5 V at the same time, still have 5 pulse on front LED.

Standby 5V supply has B plus. 2 out of the three semis that are involved have been changed. Not sure what you do to 'verify' other parts (I try to measure parts in circuit, but upon any oddball results I'll isolate and test them out of circuit) and both outputs have no shorts and can accept the voltages they are supposed to handle.

Reverify R6302 value.
Change C6306 & especially C6308.

I'm pretty much out of ideas after this. Frown

Ok, R6302 good, changed C6306,C6308, still no 5V, so if i change the entire board, maybe ?? How can i check tcon and other board to be sure.Thank you for the time you spent on this .

IF changing the power board doesn't get your 5V standby back, I don't know what will.

The Training manual only mentions your 40" model once. It's meant to cover the 26" & 32," but I haven't been able to find any other manual. The Service Manual covers your 40."
Although the power boards ARE different (G2 versus G3), they appear to contain many of the SAME circuits/parts. Main boards are also different.
Neither cover the 'logic board' other than to claim it is part of the panel assembly. It needs Digital Video and another 5V source.

Just a very simple check, if i just put the 110ac and nothing else, should i get the 5Vstb ? I yes, i just have the change the board, right ?
