Dead sharp 25jm100 Can't Post

Hi! I have a "dead" Sharp tv, model 25j-m100, you press power swt nothing happened, replaced r466 (.27 ohms 1 watt) which was missing(exploded!!), there is still no standby voltage in power swt. Checked AC line, found open power transformer (T701). Need part number of transformer or better yet service manual. Thanks !!

A Transformer opening up is pretty rare. The copper would have to melt to open the connection. I supposed it could have been dropped and phsically broken off. I suspect you may want to double check the transformer again. Could it be the traces to the transformer?

In a possible other direction: Check the electrolytic capacitors around the resistor that exploded.

I stand corrected. I guess I haven't come accross that one yet.

T701 is P/N RTRNPD416CEZZ. Tritronics shows it in stock for around $50. I'm not sure why an open power transformer would cause the resistor to explode so I would check to make sure that no other problems exist before spending a lot of money on a 25" set
