Disappearning Picture Can't Post

I have a '99 Sony, KV-35S42, 35", which has a disappearning picture. When you turn in on, it is working fine but after a little there is a black bar appearning either on top or on the bottom which eventually turns the whole picture black. There is still a sound but the picture is completely gone and the screen is black. When you touch the main board the picture comes back but as soon as you let go of it, the problem reappears. I have some technical background but I don't know which part should be replaced. I have no idea which part to look for so, if you can give me some assistance it would be appreciated.
