F27701BK RCA Can't Post

Hello

I took this unit on as a challenge, boy it is turning out to be one. Before I give up on it,

I am asking for advice. What I am running into is the main ceramic resistor is blowing right

off the bat.(15w 2.7 ohm).As soon as I plug the power cord in,with nothing hooked up,just the

power switch. I have changed a bad cap I found,also Q4401,Q4101,U4101,CR4122,C4102.

Thanks For Any Suggestions Rob

probably a shorted diode in the bridge rectifier in the main power supply.

If the chopper transistor is not short it will be the degauss PTC, Just remove it and try again, or remove it and give it a shake, if it rattles its faulty.
