Fusible Resistors Can't Post

What happens if someone replaces a normal resistor of 47 Ohms value instead of a fusible resistor of the same value?

How can one determine its wattage?

When you buy resistors they are wattage rated. Most normal resistors are carbon. No fusable resistor is carbon, it is a metal film on a ceramic rod which makes it flameproof. If you replace a protection resistor with a standard resistor you then take all responsibility for the damage that may cause, whether that be fire or electrocution. Think very carefully whether you want that liability for a minor extra cost.

Thanks, and by the way this fusible resistor (R196) is on a Formenti-Phoenix F16. Without it causes the screen to reduce from both sides(left and right) with a slight bend inwards. Something caused it to overheat and blow.

these TV's suffered from bad solder joints on the flyback tuning capacitors which you should check SOON before the whole thing goes up in smoke(which I have seen many times on this Italian chassis)and burns a hole in the pcb.the arcing on these dry joints probably caused the fusible to flip open circuit
