Grundig TV Dead Can't Post

Hi,

I have a Grundig 28wf100 CRT tv thats a few years old.

Last week it turned itself off and now won't turn back on again.
The LED on the front blinks green, but nothing else happens.

I have the service manual for the TV, but need somebody to tell me if it can be fixed, and how?

Do I need to replace something on the boards, or is it just a case of re-soldering some components?

Thanks,
Eoin

What skills have you, do you know the difference between Amps, Ohms and Volts. Do you have a multimeter, a soldering iron, some method of removing solder. These are all the things you need before you cme here and ask for help. My first test is the Horizontal output, can you do that.

Hi,

I have some skills in soldering etc, and know the various bits.

I have a multimeter, and from what I can see, there is voltage going through most parts, including the capacitors on the RGB itself.

I have the technical manual for the TV, the 8500 chassis.
Would you know which component manages the horizontal output, as its not really clear from it?

Thanks,
Eoin

Check the horizontal output for shorts, B to E will only be a few ohms but B to C should read one way and not the other.

Hi,

Where might I find the horizontal outputs, as the maual is a bit unclear on what each component does?

Sorry to be silly.

Thanks,
Eoin

Dropped into a repair guy for him to look at.

Thanks for your advice.

Happy XMas.
