Hitachi CT2670B	Can't Post

the color and sharpness for this set is not as good as it should be. The only adjustments I made is on the front panel. Because the set was manufactured in 1988 I'm wondering if I change some caps will it help to improve the picture quality.

I suspect that your problem is a weak picture tube from your description. With a set that old, it is probably not worth spending time or money on.
