Hitachi Convergence Issue? Can't Post
I have a Hitachi 53sdx89ba.
I have replaced both the convergence amps.
But I am not sure that is the problem.
All resistors checked out fine.
The top 1/4 of the screen is the only thing affected.
Almost a double image, but also distorted to the right..
I do not have the original remote to do a manual adjustment.

Any ideas what it might be if not a convergence problem?

In or out of circuit? / with or without convergence yokes plugged in?Wink

With them still on board...
And yeah the "yokes" were still on too. the old ones were.

A "small-value" resistor in-circuit and in parallel with a coil. I wonder which you'll read.

Okay, so basically I need to pull all the resistors out and check them as well?

You will definitely need the original remote to perform alignment- 1st do as jts says & check res near stk,s- desolder 1 leg- MUST have accurate low ohms meter. If you have r/p amps & still same- there is your answer!.Crazy
