Hitachi Can't Post

Hello

I am working on a Hitachi Television,Model CT-7883bc,Chassis number A1LXU-M/R.

I am trying to get the v up and V Down, and the ch up and CH down to work on the

front of the unit.Works with a Universal Remote.I have repaired a number of tvs

but am still in the learning stages. This is probably the most complecated problem i

have run up againist,so far. Any advice would be appreciated. Also would you be

able to tell me why, lets say a 1\4 watt resistor 22k checks out of the board

properly, but not in the board.Lets say out of the board 22k,in the board sodered

14.4k. Same spot on the board, brand new resistor, same results.

Thanks Rob

If it works with the remote but not the switchs, you probably have a bad connection between the switch and microprocessor or the microprocessor itself is bad. Installed resistors usually have other components in parallel with them which will cause a lower resistance reading across them. Read up on Ohm's law for a better understanding.
