Hitachi p42h401 Problem

42" Hitachi - picture exceeds screen size vert and horiz. Doesn't matter what aspect 4:3, 4:3 expanded, 16:9 etc. Can adjust place of entire picture up/down but cannot shrink picture to fit. Picture OK on regular TV. Thanks for ideas.
