Horizontal Ripples

I am a college student and do not have enough money to pay a Television repair man to look at my television, so i figured i would post my problem here first. I have a 25 inch Admiral television, i do not know what model number it is. Since I got it this television it has had only one problem. It for some reason produces horizontal ripples across the screen in various places, usually the bottom creeping up. These ripples are not present all the time however, they seem to only appear when certain lighting is apparent on whatever scene is on the television. If anyone has any idea on what I could do to fix this problem it would be greatly appreciated.
