Insignia Backlight issues Can't Post

Insignia NS-LDVD26Q-10A
TV turns on and you can see the backlight is faintly working on the right side of the screen but fades to nothing on the left side. Everything else seems to be functioning. The part of the TV that you can see the picture is only about 3-4 inches, after that it just fades to darkness. I pulled the back off and tested where the power supply feeds the inverter and the power supply is putting out 24V to the inverter which is what it should be. No visibly bad caps. I would think the inverter is the problem, but i'm confused because I've never seen the backlights partially light. Every time I've ever seen an inverter go out it is total darkness. Would you call this an inverter problem or am I missing something here? Thanks for your time.

It could be the backlights themselves that are bad. Sounds like you are one the right track, either inverter or backlghts which are just little thin fluorescent tubes.

IF the back lights are lit 1) full time & 2) Full length - look elsewhere.Wink

Thanks for advice. Iwent ahead and ordered the inverter today. It's the easiest and cheapest thing to try.

Don't really see another option. Bulbs are lighting full time but not full length. Proper voltage is going to the inverter, which in my mind only gives me two options inverter or get a new TV. I'll post my results when the inverter comes in.

Have you visually observed the BULBS themselves NOT lighting their full length? (TFT screen should show proper video across and down whole screen - NOT just a bar of 3 to 4").Smile

For anybody that stumbles across this thread in the future replacing the inverter did fix it. Smile
