Intermittent buzzing

Intermittent buzzing	Can't Post

I have a two year old Wharfdale LCDF1080P television set that I have recently inherited. The problem is, there is an intermittent buzzing noise that is driving me mad. Here are the facts:
- I have no additional set-top boxes or gizmos connected, I just watch Freeview using my standard co-axial cable and the built-in receiver.
- I've adjusted the brightness etc, but it makes no difference.
- The buzzing always comes on when I change channels, stopping after a few seconds before starting again soon after.
- The buzzing usually starts and stops at times when there is a definite picture change on the sceen.
- The buzzing is still there when I remove the aerial from the tv completely.
If anyone has any suggestions I would be very grateful.

turn the volume down to zero.if the noise is coming from the tv it's a mechanical noise as opposed to electrical fault in the audio stages.if so you need the back off and an insulated plastic stick to prod components to see if it stops when you touch one of the parts.probably something loose with a bit of luck.

Many thanks for your help Techchris. Before I start taking the back off the TV, I have some further information that might narrow the problem down...
When I mute the audio, the buzzing stops. But when I turn the volume down, the buzzing is still there.
Does that tell you, or anyone else, anything???
