Is this fixable?

We have a small 19" Sanyo CRT television set that went out in smokes. I think we had to many electrical appliances running at the same time and it probably short circuited the television or something. White smoke was spewing from the back of the television after it went out. Luckily, only our cordless phone and the tv blew out.
So, is this thing fixable or does anyone know what could have really happened? We have no clue right now--it's either try our best to fix it or out in the trash it goes.
