JVC AV-27920 Can't Post

My TV has recently had a band of slight distortion at the top of the screen. Today, the picture collapsed into a thin line of light horizontally through the screen. Within seconds it went back to full screen and the distorted band was gone. A short time later, it collapsed into the thin line of light again and has not recovered. What is causing this? Should I use this set?

You need to replace the vertical I.C. and C424.

Check for a bad solder joint on the vertical IC.

Where can I buy such parts? and how do I find out where they are located within the set?

I.C.421 is labeled on the board and part # is LA 7832. I am sorry as I can't help you any further than this as this is all the info I have!
