Jungle IC Can't Post

How in the world do you de-solder and re-solder a jungle I.C.? When they come into my shop with that problem, I just condemn the set! The Manufacters don't want you to repair these sets. they just wan't you to buy a new one. made in CHINA!

Use a solder sucker to desolder. Resoldering is a piece of cake with a 25 watt pencil iron.

Rubbish, if you are surethe IC is faulty use a stanley knife o cut the pins off at the side of the ic. Now with solder wick, clean the pads off. With pencil iron, put a pad of solder on the cleaned pad at each corner, fit the new IC and solder the corners, check if OK, if so solder all contacts. Use best and thiinest solder you can get, and check joints do solder as non lead solder is not so easy.

I doubt that you are older than I am and I'm still at it. I use a pair of storebought 3.75 diopter reading glasses for close up work.
