Kaput! No Power Can't Post

I have an older 27" Misubishi (Model CS-2669R) (Ser.# 037487) that was working fine. I didn't use it for some time (in a spare bedroom), and when I did attempt to turn it on - nothing???

I've taken the back off and checked the two fuses near the power cord connection, and they appear to be OK. Are there any other "quick checks" that can be made before I relent to taking it to the shop?

Also, the small circuit board extending from the back of the screen is somewhat discolored (brown), perhaps indicating heat from years of service??? As I said, it's old and may not be worth the effort, but it WAS working great.

Unsure Thanks for any help

I've somehow mislead you into thinking I knew something about TV'sSmile I could probably do a Google search to discover what a capacitor looked like, and I assume I would need something like an ohm meter???? Perhaps I've gotten on the wrong forum for a novice like me.

I was just wondering if I was overlooking something obvious, like another in-line type of fuse or something simple, before junking it??????

Electronic failures are rarely something "obvious" that can be "eyeballed" unless it has exploded, burned, opened or, as shadetree suggests, is leaking. Given your confessed lack of technical knowledge, any of these would probably be beyond the scope of your ability to correct. Decision time; toss or pay for repairs.
