Mitsubishi VS-4543 help.

My sister managed to get a MIT VS-4543 for free because it didn't work. Since I'm the family technician she, asked me to see if I could aid in getting it fixed for her. Thanks in advance for any help or advice!
Symptoms: When the power button is pressed, the power light illuminates for about 3 seconds and goes back off. There is no indication of picture or sound while the power button is illuminated.
