NTE558 (RCA 243636) ???????? Can't Post

Does anybody know operating specs on either of these diodes? I'm wondering if I can find a suitable Radio Shack replacement.

Go the the NTE Electronics website and search for sk3998. That will take you to the NTE558 replacement and the PDF specs.

I have specs for the NTE part. Don't know if I have enough data on the Radio Shack part to interchange.

R'Shack = PTC205, catalog # 276-1114, 2.5amp, 1000 peak-inverse-volts.

Thanks Mel.

If you're still looking for specs for that 243636, give me a model number and chassis number and I can probably find it.

The NTE558 is a general purpose diode. Since it is in the primary 174 volt power supply, almost any GP diode should work so laong as you don't exceed the wattage limits.

Thanks Mel.

Couldn't get much info on the R'Shack diode and wanted insight of experience before replacing and powering up...

I'm a tech who works in another area of electronics but I do some TV work for myself and other personals. I also know how critical, expensive, or hard to find some parts can be.

Thanks again everybody.
