Need HOT advice Can't Post

I have a blown HOT transistor, I am trying to find a replacement, not having any luck.

My 1984 GE 19" TV blew it's HOT. The schematic enclosed in the TV says:
Horiz. output xsistor and damper diode are included in the same unit. Replace only with original equipment GE catalog replacement part number EP15X218.

I have spent lots of time online trying to find a replacement and have tried a GE TV service shop, it is no longer available.

Does anyone know how to get a replacement? or worst case, a substitute?

I would appreciate any pointers. Thank You.

GE model number of set is 19PP5762W circa 1984.
Chassis is a 19PC-F
Transistor markings are: 1911, T.JAPAN, 410

Dont know where youare but the specs on that are easyto get. I got it from NTE its a 1500V with internal diode. IE its the usual. try a BU508DF would suspect as good. At bout $3 not much of a loss.

Thanks for the advice, I will try that transistor, like you say, what have I got to loose.

Question though, how did you get the NTE website to kick out the specs (or cross) for my transistor? What NTE number does my transistor cross too? is it the BU508DF? I can't get NTE to take that part number.

thanks again!

I tried to get PDF specs and no go today perhaps NTE have stopped that. It was just a standard 1500V device with diode, sure its TO3 but the flat pack can be used in place with a little modification as TO3 usually costs a fortune now and no better.
