No Sound Can't Post

I have a GE model46GW984 TV

Everything was working good then lost sound just a little static like noise.

Still have good picture.

Checked wires to speakers, all appear to be ok.

Any help appreciated. Pete

Pete, not much info to go on, some sets have a speaker on/off switch

on the back of the set or in the audio portion of the menu some can

turn off the speakers, you didn`t give the chassis number so this may

or may not help; unplug TV`s AC cord for 30 seconds and then plug

it back in, turn on set and if audio returns you had a glitch in the

packet that comes down from the satellite and it locked up your

set, this is common in 195, 197, 202, 203 chassis`s, hope this helps

Pete, glad to help you, be aware that rca/ge tv`s have a problem with this "extra 3 bits of data" and the only known cure for it is to unplug ac for 30 seconds so you may see it happen again, I "fix" approx. 30 a year doing this, glad it worked for you Larry E

Larry that is good to know.

I got my sound and I believe now receiving the best picture ever.

I live out in the boon docks and we loose our power often and I am real familiar with reprogramming but never lost sound before .

I was so surprised to find help, I just entered the brand and model in Google and ended up with this wonderful help.

Thanks Pete
