'Nother lesson learned... Can't Post

RCA 25" w/ CTC chassis would not start up. HV would flash on/off. Figured start up, HV circuits were working "somewhat." B+ was 167v. Gate and source of switching FET ~0 ohms. Shrugged it off, figured I was measuring a very low value resistor in parallel w/FET and diode.

Checks good so decided to backtrack and disconnect diode and recheck. Diode turned out to be SHORTED! Ordering parts for a few different sets but hopefully this will solve start up problem. Thanks for your responses...
