PHILIPS, 24RF50S141 Can't Post
Philips direct view tv, plug in and a high intermittent squeal begins. There are no function controls for power button on/off status. The tv begins to make this noise as soon as it is plugged in. I already changed the flyback transformer, same symptom. Problem must be in the P.S because the high voltage does not come on. The crt does not come on. I shoud have noticed that before replacing the flyback. So, it must be a cap, resistor, diode, or H.o.t in the power supply. I can't find a schematic for this unit yet. Does anyone, have location numbers and component values for this circuit fault of the possible culprit. (diodes...etc.,zener..)

check the Horizontal out transistor for short circuit, collector to base or collector to emitter. its a big flat 3 pin device on a heatsink by the flyback transformer.

techchris, may you tell me what NTE cross reference that would be. I went to the nte cross reference with the H.O.T transistor BU4508DX, this is the exact number on it. I've double checked it and it is BU4508DX. However, I still can't find a schematic, the parts store does not even cross this model number.

is the transistor ok or not?if it measures ok then take it off the board,switch on and measure the voltage on the centre pin connection on the board. if no volts then you have a power supply fault. if its about 120 volts give or take, then the fault is in the flyback area or possibly east/west diodes short circuit.I have no schematic for this model sorry.
