Panasonic CT-2786VYD	Can't Post

Gentlemen,
I was given 5 of these sets with the same issue, no picture, sound ok, opened one today and found resistor 552 open and replaced, still no picture, sound ok. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

This chassis is famous for vertical deflection failure. Turn the screen control up and see if you have vertical sweep. I.C. LA7838 and associated electrolytics and resisters.

I know some electronics, but just started with tvs, if you could tell me the location of mentioned parts, it would be most helpful.

Turned up the bottom adjustment and gave me a horizontal white line, from there turned up top screw and white line was widened.

Don't leave that white line on very long or you will burn pix tube. The 13 leg IC can be found strapped to large heatsink. I don't have a schematic for that chassis, but if you don't replace the offending parts that caused the problem, then you are just wasting your time and money. You may want to take them to a pro. They might make you a cut-rate deal on 5 of them as I am quite sure that they all have the same problem!

Found it, Labeled LA7838 just like you said, thanks, now to find them somewhere.
