Philips Magnovox 60"

Hello all new to this forum so hope this is in the right spot.
I have a 60" Philips Magnovox rear projection that is between 7 and 8 years old. I went to turn it on today and all I get is the green power light but no sound and no picture. It is in the family room and is only used with a direct connection to the incoming cable line, no box. I tried the vcr and still no picture. I am sure others have submitted this problem so bear with me as I am still new to this. Thanks for the help in advance.
