Pioneer Convergence problem Can't Post

I have a Pioneer Projection TV SD-T50W1/SL. I have red and green distorted lines on the left side of the screen, when I adjust the convergence with the remote I can get rid of the 2 lines but a few minutes later or when I turn the television off and back on the lines come back. It doesn’t want to store the adjustments I make and resorts back to the distortion. I have inside the stk 4277 ic do you think replacing this will fix the problem, or is it something else? Also where is the best place to purchase this ic from. I have seen it on partstore for 43 dollars stk 4279 and apparently it is the replacement part for the 4277? Any help you could give me would be much appreciated thankyou.
