RCA D32F750T Problems Can't Post

I have a RCA D32F750T chassis: ITC222. I fell asleep watching the TV and when I woke up the TV was off, didn't think anything of it. Went to turn it back on the power light illuminates and then this loud wailing noise occurs and the set turns back off.

The local TV repairman passed away last week and I'm at a loss as to what to do without buying a new TV.

I can provide help if I can.

I Found on a web search that these TV's are Notorious for burning up Flybacks! That would give you the Noise, and the Shutdown Cycling..

Seems like RCA had a Bad Batch of Flybacks. Try something from a Third Party Source. It's common on these large single gun sets. The one lone Fly just can't take the punishment of pushing these big picture tubes.

I will say these D32F750T's have a Glorious Picture on them. That is when they work! The DVI connection is nice too.

Ipodsensie is partially right about the flyback probably being bad. RCA has had a history of flyback failures for the past several years and it is not unique to only large screen sets. As to his advice to use a third party flyback, you could be just throwing your money away because experience has shown that only RCA original replacement flybacks will work most of the time.

Thanks for the suggestions, we managed to get an OEM RCA flyback and had a gentlemen replace it over the past week. Now here's another question, since having the flyback replaced the screen has overscan issues, well I put it in 16:9 and that goes away, but the main problem is that the screen goes in and out between the vibrant colors and dulled out colors. Its also got wavy lines in the screen when it plays, like heavy magnets are near by, but there are none, and sometimes it does the whole screen. Any suggestions?

I honestly don't think its the speakers because they don't get used much since we have a surround sound system.

How do I check the wires? I know computers, but I also know that knowledge doesn't correspond to tv's.

Thanks!

Retrace lines... Ouch. Hmmm sounds like a possible defective flyback out of the box. Or you have some popped/out of range caps in the B+.

We actually had a popped cap. We have since gotten this fixed. The gentleman that fixes the tv said that it might be in my best interest to get a "sway" board, he said it was the board the flyback attaches to. If anyone can direct me to where I might find one please let me know.

Thanks!
